Thomas King is no ordinary musician--he's on a mission and he won't be stopped. As stated on his website, Thomas desires to "inject high-energy pop tunes into a world in need of a futuristic funk vaccine". This task he completes with the appearance of such ease and talent, it's surprising that not everyone's heard of him...yet.
Awesome Austrian
Originally from Vienna, Austria, Thomas has been interested in music since a very young age. At four years, he began to play the drums and only five short years later, took to the stage for the first time. He spent his adolescence touring with a couple of great bands and performing both on television and on stage.
It was during this time that he learned the finer points of performing arts which lead to the development of his larger-than-life persona. Thomas headed to Los Angeles in the pursuit of expanding his fan base and taking his music to an out of this world level.
Finding the Kingtom
On his way to LA, Thomas came upon a place, in outer space, called the Kingtom. The Kingtom is made up of seven planets, including the "The Great Uniting Star - LOVE" which all the other planets orbit around. These planets were founded on the ideals of Excitement, Passion, Joy, Beauty, Freedom, and Peace.
Thomas took the fundamentals of each one of these ideals and used them when writing his songs. The music he makes is a rocking twist of pop which never loses momentum. Thomas' songs could make the most critical of music critics jump up and dance til they're sore.
High On Life
Released in September of 2010, Thomas' current EP High On Life has songs which express everything from royal romanticism to unabashed badassery. "Make It Loud" is a pop-rock anthem about making the most of the weekends. "Do You Believe" draws in the listener with the use of fantastical beats reminiscent of Bowie. Thomas slows it down a bit on "In The Dark", a song about a complicated, emotionally charged relationship. "One Nite Stand" and "The King Lives On" round out High On Life with carefree rebellion and hopeful promise, respectively.
Thomas has impeccable talent for creating music that is equally danceable and easy to connect with emotionally. He is currently on tour promoting High On Life and was included on the "Hot 100 Unsigned Artists of 2010" in Music Connection Magazine. With his charisma and unquestionable abilities, it won't be too long before Thomas King becomes one of the hottest newly signed artists of 2011.
