From sensual bass lines to strong, clear vocals, Dom Liberati wows audiences by blending his own sound with elements from some of the greats.

Within the first few seconds of hearing Dom Liberati's new album, The Good Hurt, it is clear that Dom possesses amazing musical talent and experience. It's no wonder then, why Dom has swarms of fans which continue to swell by the day. Playing at The Viper Room and collaborating with the same producer as Ke$ha is only a part of Dom's journey to stardom.

Becoming a Guitar Hero

Dom has been a musician, playing bass and doing vocals, since he was 12 years old. Seabird and Lovedrug are some of the bands Dom spent around ten years touring with. This experience has afforded him the ability to truly captivate his audience the entire time he's on stage. Dom learned to balance being both the bassist and the front man through touring.

All the hard work of being on tour and song writing paid off big time in 2009. Dom's song "Love Holds It Down" was chosen to be part of the set list in the popular video game Guitar Hero. Since his game debut, Dom has been playing at famous LA locales such as The Viper Room and Whiskey A Go-Go.

Breaking Down The Sound

As stated in his bio on his website, some of Dom's major influences are Jimmy Eat World, The Police, and Kings of Leon. His songs pay homage to these great bands through perfect riffs and flowing vocals. Specifically, the bass line and melody of "Burn" is reminiscent of The Police's "Roxanne", while Dom's vocals on "Evidence" has more of a Kings of Leon "Use Somebody" sound. Overall, "Meltdown" definitely plays more like a Jimmy Eat World tune.

If the previous descriptions imply any lack of originality on Dom's part, let that thought end here and now. It's important to realize that although his songs pay homage to those bands, it is Dom's creativity and passion which make every song refreshingly innovative.

Dom's sound is created with the help of his bandmates Tony Solis, playing guitar, and Dom's cousin B.C. Taylor, on drums. Solis has played with Don Henley and John Legend in the past. Taylor has acquired experience through touring as well. The trio combines their talent in such a way that instantly enthralls audiences everywhere.

All That and Good Looks Too

As if experience and incredible talent aren't enough, Dom is naturally good looking and has a down-to-earth charm about him. Factoring these traits together only increases the interest to see him perform on stage. He'll be playing next on September 3, 2011 at The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles. So grab The Good Hurt, listen to it on repeat for the next month, and get out to see the next big rocker, Dom Liberati.
